- Connect with the network: Check to see that the Rockspace range extender is turned on. Additionally, both your computer and smartphone are connected to the extended network and are within the router’s wireless range.
- Check if your router and range extender uses a similar SSID (network name): If you use the same SSID for both of your devices, the connection will be unstable. Your Rockspace range extender must have been configured with the same SSID as the current network. It must be reconfigured and a new SSID should be created.
- Check your range extender’s Signal LED: Move the range extender closer to the router if the LED is off or orange or red.
- Firmware upgrades: To access the Rockspace range extender’s management page, visit http://re.rockspace.local or http://www.rockspacewifi.com. Check if the range extender has the most recent firmware. If not, update to the most recent rendition.
- Restore default settings from the factory: Using a paperclip, reset the range extender and reconfigure it after a factory reset.
- Technical assistance: Contact the Rockspace Support Team for additional assistance if none of the above actions help.
What to do when you can’t find your Rockspace range extender network after configuration?
- Check that the Power LED is on and that the Rockspace range extender is connected to a power source.
- Try connecting once more after rebooting your Rockspace extender.
- Verify the router-range extender connection as follows:
• Use an Ethernet cable to connect a computer to the Rockspace range extender.
• Use http://re.rockspace.local or http://www.rockspacewifi.com to sign into the range extender.
• Examine the connection between your range extender and router on the Status page. You will be able to see your router’s network name if your range extender is connected.
- Check to see if the 2.4 GHz Network and the 5 GHz Network are hidden by going to Wi-Fi Settings/Wireless Settings (depending on the model).
- Make sure you are looking for the correct SSID by checking the network name (SSID) of the range extender. Change the SSID of the range extender and reconnect if they are using the same SSID on your router.
- Check to see that there isn’t too much interference between the device and your range extender. With your device, stand directly next to the range extender. Check to see if the name of your range extender’s network appears in the list of wireless networks that are available. To be certain, refresh the list multiple times.
- Try connecting your range extender to a variety of wireless devices. If other devices function normally, the issue lies within that one device’s wireless receiver.
- Reset and reconfigure your Rockspace range extender. Please get in touch with the Rockspace Support Team if the extended network is still not visible to you.
